I feel I really did a bad job in my English class. I missed so much by sick for several weeks. So will probably take the class again in a new semester. There was a lot of work crammed into just ten weeks as opposed to 17-18 weeks. This was a tough summer for me. I am finally feeling better but just cannot get back into a working groove. Jared said he felt that way too when he missed two days for surgery on his molars. I don't know what to do. I just want this semester done and then onto a new one.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!

Well I am home from Hawaii. I have been very busy with school and the kids so I certainly have been neglecting my blog. I caught a cold from my niece and brought it home with me. I have tried for last few weeks to get rid of it but it is lingering on. It has had a very strong hold on me. I haven't been to church in two weeks because of it. I also have not been able to go to work. I would not wish how I feel on anyone.

Off to another topic. I have been in school for four weeks now and I feel so behind. I am taking two classes and this online thing is crazy. I would rather sit in class for two hours and listen to the teacher than take an online course.I am taking accounting and English and I am frustrated with both on them. My fall classes are all at the school so I am very happy about that.

I also am trying to decide what to do about my fish ponds. I want expand my in ground one to a 20 x 10 and just not sure yet when I can do that. I have lots of plants if anyone would like some. I also have tons of snails if you would like those too. I have little nurseries in my big barrels. I would be very happy to share.

Well that's all for now I am going to bed. I am looking forward to visiting different places there. I really want to meet Dog the Bounty Hunter. Even if I only meet a member of his family I will be happy. I also want to see the volcano, Dole plantation and Pearl Harbor.

If you here in the area of Verona maybe you can check on the kids for me. I am still going to school and just signed up for my summer classes. It has been a fun semester to a point. I am glad that I am going to college at an older age. So many of the kids in my class like to skip class and that drives me crazy. I wonder if their parents know what they are doing? I don't think they do. They will come one day and then not the next. That's crazy to me. What a waste of money. I am so proud that Jared doesn't skip class. He wants that education... Yay!

I start my first accounting and English class this summer. It will be a ten week semester. I am excited about it. Then in the fall I will take the second accounting and English class. I will also be taking Spanish 1 and my first ever sign language class. I am very excited about those two classes. I will be able to add them to my job description at work and get credit for them. Any ideas about other classes to take? I am open to ideas.

In church the other day we were talking about a family that had moved several years ago. We have children the same age. The mom even helped me at the birth of Gabbie. Who is now 10 years old. I wish that we had kept in touch. She was a great influence on me. She also loved to sew and brought out the enthusiasm for sewing for me. I did learn quite a bit from her. I hope that wherever she is, she and her family are doing well. She taught a class about sewing and they made a cover for the relief society manual. I wish I had been their for it beacuse I missed out on how to make it. Oh well. I hope to find a pattern one day I hope.

Well I am going to finish the laundry and dishes. So I will write later.

Ian

Today Ian had two basketball games about two hours apart. His team won both games too. I am so proud of him as young man and team player. Last year he would like to hog the ball. Now he will make sure that everyone on the team gets a chance to have the ball and score the points. He really has turned into a fine young man. I am so proud of him. He really thinks that everyone should have a chance to score. He really makes a point to look and see who is open to take a pass even if he know he can make a shot. With not having a father in the house he has turned out well. Who knows it would have been like or how different he would be if he dad had stayed with us. I don't have brothers so I don't know what boys are supposed to be like. But I am very proud of him. I am also very proud of his big brother who came to the game and cheered him on. After the last game was over we went for ice cream and Jared said he would teach him how to shave. I don't know how men are supposed to shave so I very glad that Jared will help out with this.

We are all supposed to be at church tomorrow too. I am happy about that also. Jared is bringing his girldfriend Carra too. I am soooo happy that they will be coming. Well that is all for now. One question though. Has any mom out there taught their son how to shave? Any advice would be appreciated. The Professor said I could go home but I felt that I should stay since this is an important class. A fellow student beside me said "she could not sit close to me because she had a cold and cancer and could not afford to get sick." She is a smoker and does not look the best anyway and I was upset by her comment. I am not breathing on her and certainly not in her space. The doctor said I was not contagious and I would cough into my sleeve. I did not cough too much and that surprised me. Maybe getting out of the house was a good thing(getting the fresh air). I just had to comment about that, get it off my chest so to speak.

I am enjoying going to class. It has been a self-esteem booster for me that I can keep up with the former high school kids. I am amazed at how much they like to goof off. I am trying to learn to expand my horizons and they are sitting talking with one another, texting, emailing, or even viewing different web pages. It is very disturbing to me. I bet most of them are not paying for school themselves. It is such a shame. Students in my fall class did not even pass. Not that the class was easy but if you took the time to do the work you should have been able to get an A. I am glad that I am going to school now it certainly gives me a different perspective on things. I might not have wanted to strive for those "A"s if I just went straight from high school. I do feel like a mother hen sometimes. I think there is only one person older than I am. Hopefully it will get better since this is only the second week. I'll will hope for the best.

On another subject. Mother Nature delivered some snow but it certainly was not enough. I was hoping for a few feet and we got mere inches that quickly changed to ice. Now most of that is all gone. Maybe the westerners can send the easterners some snow. That would be fantastic. It seems to hit the mountains and stop. We need a little wind lift to get it come over this way. Any thoughts on the snow? Please comment.

I've Got a Bug.

Well, I should be home enjoying the kids home from school on snow day. Well I am not! Jared passed a cough and bug to Jessica who passed it to Emma and now mom has it. It has not been fun for the last several days. Cough, fever, runny nose, headache and body aches are not fun. I did get the flu shot so I hope that will cut down on the time being ill who knows. Going to the Doctor to see what he has to say. I know that sometimes I do not use my time wisely. That is something that I struggle with all the time. Any suggestions out there? I just don't know how to work this all out. I was not sent to jail!!!! That was great. Derryl was not given full custody of the children!!! That was even better. He wanted full custody of the kids even though he has not come for over two years to see them. He could not even give a reason why he would not come. He told the Judge that I withheld them from him. He could not even explain why he did not send them any mail, phone calls, or even email to establish visits again. He did not seem all together there. He would go off on random subjects and his attorney would have to bring him back to the topic. It was very strange. He could not articulate very well. I don't know what is happening to him but it is very strange. He testified that because of his liver transplants he now has kidney problems. I have never heard of that. Anyone have any ideas on that? He says that he has to rest a lot because he does not have a lot of strength but yet he thinks he can keep up with all that our five kids at home do. For instance: Varsity bball game tonight, scouts, achievement days, work, school activities and anything else that would come up. Oh, he also says that because of the transplant he cannot work. I have seen people go back to work after a heart transplant. I don't know what his deal is. Alonzo Mourning went back to the NBA with a kidney transplant and still plays.

I would like to hear you thoughts on this. Does any know of anyone that has had a transplant and not been able to work or vice versa has been able to go back to work.

I am going to sign the children up to see a counselor on the advice of the Guardian ad litem and the Judge. Derryl wants this certain lady and the Judge and GAL thought she would be a good person for the children to talk to about the issues they have with their father. Since he picked her I am going to set up a visit with her for myself and the kids. So he cannot say I attempted to bias the Counselor against him. He picked her and made it known to the Court this is who he wants. So I will go with it.

This was also the first time that I have heard and seen his attorney get upset with him. Derryl would not stick the questions being asked and just randomly go to different subjects so his attorney go very upset with him and yelled at him. The Judge, GAL and I were very shocked at this. He kept trying to keep Derryl again on the subject and questions that were being asked.

I handled myself very well as my own attorney. I did not cry or even yell at him. Though I really wanted to. He makes me so angry. He thinks of our children as property to own not the children they are. I don't know he just doesn't just stop with all the actions of going to court. He does not want to see them for the right reasons. He also cannot understand why they don't want to see him after he hasn't seen them for over 2 years. I love my children very much and will not stop fighting him in court every time he pulls this stuff. I would love for the court to finally say enough is enough and not allow him to keep on doing this. I do know the Judge was getting fed up with him yesterday. Also after his show cause and change of custody were denied by the Judge the Commonwealth Attorney Chilton Reed stopped me as I was walking by and told that I did a wonderful job. That handled myself very well.
I had to pat myself on the back for that. I have learned a lot about the legal system while going through this. I can take on anybody now. I don't know all the legal mumbo jumbo but I well certainly fight for my kids. His attorney was shocked that I took him on and stood up for myself and my kids.

Well I need to help Meagan with a resume for her mentorship meeting tomorrow so I need to sign off. Any thoughts will be appreciated good or bad. Advice offered will be great here, phone or email. Thanks.

Court tomorrow

I have court again tomorrow. When i signed up for the new one I found that the teacher was not a good one and that he is very full of himself. The advisor told me I was better off since no one liked him. the new teacher is actually very wonderful. So I am excited about the new class. It truly amazes me how things seem to work out. I am getting ready for Court on Tuesday and was stressed about that and school. Now I am comfortable about going ahead with classes and getting ready for court. I know everything will work out great. Hopefully this will be the end and the Judge will finally tell him enough is enough. It has been lots of fun. We had to leave Meagan at home since she plays varsity bball. She has three games this week and could not come because she signed a contract to not miss any games. It has been fun but one family member likes to pick on the kids. I don't think she even realizes what she is doing. Just little nitpicky things too. Oh well. It has been fun. The kids have enjoyed going to the beach and playing. Emma found a dead jellyfish and brought that back to the house. She has really enjoyed the beach. I am not a sun person but my kids sure are. We are going to the Horse Museum at Corolla tomorrow. That should be fun.

I hope everyone had a safe and Happy New Year. I cannot believe it is already 2009. The year 2008 has gone by too quickly. I guess when we get home the holiday will end. Unfortunately too soon. Well that's all for now. See you soon. People were lined up at the door before 3:30 am. I started at 4:00 am an we were going non stop till I left at 2;00 pm. Totally crazy out there. Did anyone go shopping early today? How was the experience? I heard a lot of complaints about the service at Wally World. They did not have enough of the doorbuster items. But, I guess that is what happens when everyone wants the same thing. Hope you all had a Wonderful Thanksgiving. Now the Christmas season has offically started for us. I dropped them off and went home with gabbie and Emma to watch TV. They went to the late one and it got out at 12:19 am. I am still tired. I could not go to sleep or I would not hear the phone ring when they were done. I am too old to pull all nighters anymore. But they had a wonderful time so I guess that is all that matters. Hope everyone else enjoyed it too. Though I did talk with Kandy and she said there was one part left out that should have been in the movie. I guess I will have to read the books after Ian finishes them so I know what everyone is talking about.

Christmas in the Store

Well, I had to work very late tonight since it was our VIP night at Penney's. I am so not into Christmas yet. I cannot believe the music is already playing and the store is all dressed up. People were spending lots of money today on gifts for Christmas. I don't want the Christmas feeling to start till Thanksgiving is over. But, it seems like every year it starts earlier and earlier. I would love to KNOW what everyone else thinks about the subject. Please let me know what you think.

Also just to give you a heads up, Penney's is opening at 4:00 am the day after Thanksgiving and I will be there to assist you. So have fun shopping and come see me and say hello. If any of you would like to apply for a Penney's card please come see me. I will get credit for it. The other parties attorney was not coming so the Judge gave us a new date. Court will be continued till January. Every time that we have court his attorney will fax a letter to say there is a conflict and ask for a continuance. I spoke up and told the Judge that I wanted the case heard now!!!! He did not like the fact the the attorney was not there. So he decided to give the children a Guardian Ad Litem. That means their own attorney. So I got the news today that it is their previous one so i am very happy. She listens to what the kids tell her and that is wonderful. So please wish us luck in January that this will finally be the end...

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We are going to Court in the morning to see if the children's father should have any visitation with them. He would like me to be behind bars so that he could have the kids. I know that is not possible. I just was hoping that you would say a Prayer for my children and I. That the outcome will be for their benefit and that of course everyhting will be fine. The older girls are very worried about talking to the Judge in front of the whole courtroom and the younger kids don't want to see their father in any way shape or from. It has been a tough few months since we were served by the Sheriff's department. Please keep us in your prayers especially my children. I so want this done and over with. I want this to be the final time that we are ever in Court again.

Jessie is missing the day at Governor's School and Meagan is missing out on a Cool Chemistry class. The younger kids will be missing out as well. I have faith that everything will be okay but, I still struggle with the jitters going to court. Having been 80 times in the last 7 years it still gets to me every time I go.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone also for the wonderful inspiration that YOU all are to my children and I. I know that great things are in store for us. My faith has been tested but through the help from all of you I know we will prevail.

Thank You and Goodnight!! Life has been very, very busy. I started taking classes at the local community college in August and since that time I don't know where the time has gone. Between working, school and taking care of five kids I just don't know how the time has flown by so quickly.

The older two girls have been so busy with school and after school activities that we have had a hard time catching up with one another. The younger three have not had as much to do after school so that has been a BIG help. I still feel like I live in my van. But it certainly has not been as bad. It sure helps that Meagan can drive to school and take Jessica with her. They both started Seminary this week so they have had to get up a lot earlier than usual. They both also have to stay at school still late in the evening and I just don't see how they get everything done. I am very proud of them for their thirst for education and they willingness to continue on with Seminary. They both thought Seminary would not happen this year since the first teacher called was not able to teach. The new teacher they like so hopefully this will be a great year for them.

As I said earlier that I am going to school also. I have really enjoyed it too!! I am the oldest person in the class other than the teacher but, she is not much older than I. I has been a blessing to be able to go back to school and work on a degree. I am still not sure exactly what I want to do but I am going forward with the belief in myself. I would like to get a degree in Business Admin or possibly as a paralegal. With all the briefs that I have had to write in this long saga of a divorce I have found that I love to write all those briefs and I am good at it too.

Derryl has filed for custody of the kids again since he does not want to pay child support. He thinks that if he has more custody than he will not have to pay anything. It all comes down to money for him!!! What a shame for him. We have six wonderful kids that he is missing out on. He has had no visitation with them since September 10, 2006. He does go up to the school and bother Emma there but has not contacted me to start his visitation again. In fact he was in the office on Thursday when Gabbie was in to see the nurse for not feeling well, and did not say anything to her. I don't even think he would recognize gabbie if he saw her. He does not ask to eat lunch with her or go to her class. He visits Emma during her lunch time but that is all. He is the one missing out on their lives.

Well, I guess I am going to stop for now. Emma wants some time with Mom so I am off to play with her.

Have A Wonderful Week and God Bless!!

Dianna

Welcome Home Dianna w/2 n's..

The giving of Blood!!

Meagan got home from work last night at 10 pm or so. We had a wonderful conversation about the blood drive. The family had 13 people sign up to donate blood and when all was said and done they had 71 bags(liters or pints) donated. The family was overwhelmed with the love of family and friends. Meagan said the grandfather has to go back to Pittsburgh for more chemo today. He was very tired but he was upbeat. I am so proud of Meagan for doing this. What a grown up young lady she is.

She and Jessie are off to school today for the freshmen orientation. They both volunteered to help with that. I am so proud of them. Well, I am off to work. Have a wonderful day!!! They are the Bria's from Richmond, Va. They are a missionary couple but now Brother Bria is a Bishop. Sister Bria spoke about her children and how two, one daughter and one son, do not attend Church but that the Home Teachers keep in contact with them. Her talk really touched me in all the right places. It has been very hard for me to not have Jared at home anymore. So I hope and pray that someone touches his life in the way the Home Teachers touched Sis. Bria's children's lives. I hope that Jared will come back to Church. I KNOW that Jared would make a wonderful Missionary. He has a great understanding of the Church and God's plan but is just a little off the path right now.

Gabbie is finally home from California!! YEA!!! She did have a wonderful time and is very glad to be home. My mom decided that she and Gabbie are a lot alike. So that is why they knock heads once in a while. Oh well, life goes on and they still love one another so I am pleased about that. Gabbie will have a wonder summertime story to tell very soon at school.

In the conversation with my mom and sister, when they brought Gabbie home, they told me the High Priests had come by and invited them to Church the next Sunday. I was very HAPPY to hear that. They did go to Church and took Gabbie with them. It was two days before they were supposed to leave for California. I am glad that they felt welcomed at Church and hope that they will continue to go. It has been a long time since they were active and so it feels right that they had a visit. So prayers are answered.

I cannot believe that school will be starting soon. There is soooo much to do! Meagan and Jessie have already been to school for different activities and will continue to go till school begins. I am very proud of the girls and what they do to make the world around them a better place to live. Meagan missed church today because she is in Pennsylvania for a blood drive. Her friend, Katie's grandfather is ill and so the family started a blood drive for him. I am so proud of Meagan for donating blood. My kids are sure growing up fast.

I hope everyone has a Wonderful week. TTFN! It has been really strange to not have all the kids here. I don't know how to cook for just three people. The house is very quiet except for the dogs barking. Emma and Ian have played Nintendo DS together so I don't have to think of things to do with them. They have gotten along very well. I am surprised since there is a big difference in ages. But, they watch tv, play games and they have even mowed the lawn together. That is really great for me because I am the one to mow all the time. With it so dry here my allergies act up when I mow. I am sure you are asking where are the other kids. Well, I will tell you.

Meagan and Jessie are at Youth Conference at UVA till tomorrow afternoon. Gabbie is still in California she will be home tomorrow also. So the whole gang will be back together tomorrow. I even had a visitor today. Jared came by and brought gifts for the family from Myrtle Beach. That was a nice surprise. His girlfriend gave me a lovely shell wind chime. I love wind chimes. So that was very sweet of her to think of me. Ian and Emma have just been stuck with boring old mom. I guess they have enjoyed themselves.

I have had more time to work in my fish ponds while everyone has been away. My frog is getting so big. When I figure out how to post pictures I will put some on. My plants are over taking my two whiskey barrel ponds and my small in ground one. I have given away quite a lot of plants and I hope the recipients enjoy them as much as I do. I need to get a few more fish for me in ground one because a local cat has had a free meal of my fish. He swiped my frog with his claw and made a scratch but froggy seems to be doing ok. I really want to dig out a very large area for a big pond in the front yard. One day I will be able to do that.(wistfully said) I love working with the ponds and helping others with theirs. I am not a expert by any means but I have learned a lot from having mine. My friend Karen says I should start my own business. I think that would be lots of fun!!! I just don't think I should try that now. Whats the old saying "don't put off what you can do today". A pond business would be something I would really enjoy. If any readers have ponds I would love to come see them. I have lots of plants to share too. Just let me know.

Well ta ta for now!!

Drama in California

I was searching through the blogs I read and decided to hit the button for "next blog". It was interesting to see what comes up. I saw many different languages and many different countries. I came across quite a few that I knew right away were LDS based. Since I am new to all of this it has taken a little time getting used to. I really enjoy what other people write but I am not quite sure what I should write about.

It amazes me that just with a click of a button you can view a snippet of someone else's life. You can read about what they are doing, how their families are growing or even about a tragedy that has happened. I just don't always have the words to write down what is going on in my life.

I really do enjoy reading about other people's lives. The internet sure has made people for away seem close to home with just a tap of a key. It also let me know that there are people just like me. Searching for answers to everyday life problems. I know that I am not the only one going through trials and tribulations. There are others that are going through them too..

I talked with Gabbie today. She is in California visiting my sister and her family for week and half. She says she is having a great time but, that her MOM-MOM (my mother) yelled at her today. Gabbie was very upset about that. My Mom usually is not one to yell at the kids or even say a harsh word to them. So I asked her what had happened and she gave me a few details. She said that they had eaten a very big breakfast this morning and that when they got to the Pier in San Francisco to eat lunch that she way not very hungry. I said ok what else happened. Gabbie said she ordered chicken fingers but, could not finish them because of the big breakfast. She said they were not able to get a to go box since they would have more than an hour ride back to my sister's house and it would not be good. I tried to explain to my 9 year old that Mom-Mom was probably tired with all the running around the twins and then her and the twins sister. That it was a long hot day and sometimes these things do happen. I asked her if she had talked to Mom-mom about how her yelling made her feel. She said no she just told Rayna (my sister)about it. Hopefully after we got off my sister helped to explain what was going on and that my mom really did not mean to yell at her.

She will be home in a few days so I will be able to talk to her some more about it. I know my Mom loves her but, I just hope that it was not as serious as Gabbie made it sound. Oh well, what can you do? I am only 3700 miles away so I cannot do much about it from this end. My Mom really did not even want to go out there but, she did since my brother-inlaw will be gone for TDY for a week. My sister has three children under three and two are twins. She did not think she could make it without help. I can understand that. It has to be hard to have your husband gone and try to cope with the kids. Mine are older so that helps me a lot. I don't know what I would have done if I did not have a few older children when Derryl and I split up. Get through it I guess. Well thanks for reading and leave any comments you may like. I was mad at first then kinda laughed about it. Derryl and I have been to Court more than 77 times. He has always been the one to not show up or even his attorney not show up. I left the courthouse and was glad that court did not happen. For some reason this divorce just does not seem to want to be over. Something always seems to come up or there is a distraction and it gets continued. As of July 19th I will officially be married 19years, half my life. I just cannot wrap my mind around that. I just wish I knew when this would end and could get on with my life. Explore options that are out there. I have signed up to go to Blue Ridge. Not sure what degree I want to pursue but, I do want to do something for me. Any hints or suggestions would be helpful. I would like to berate my attorney a little for not showing up. He was the one to set the court date. The judge was just a little angry. Oh well, what can you do.

I have hinted to me my kids that I would like to meet someone and possibly get married again. That has been a BIG NO NO!! They don't want me to get married again. They don't even want me to date anyone. I don't want to live out the rest of my life by myself, I want a partner to help me along the way. Hopefully soon Heavenly Father will put someone in my path that he knows will be good for me and for my kids. They need a Good Father Figure in their lives. I don't know how to teach my youngest son to be an honorable man or even how to shave his face. But i will do the best I am able. I do have six wonderful kids they are growing up so fast. I know that they will be very productive members of society and hopefully all continue on the Church and I hope they will all want to go on Missions. We shall see. Well thats all for now please let me know what you think. Good Bad or Ugly. He passed away on Tuesday after suffering for a long time. His wife seemed so held together. I cannot imagine life without your spouse. My mom is getting by after we lost my step-father and I admire her for it. I don't know how she keeps going. I am just separated from my husband and have been for a long time but I don't think I would think about him the same way if he had passed away. He is a major thorn in my side.
